Portraits and Peddles

How can your portraits help raise money in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis? Simple, book a portrait session between July 1st and August 22nd 2009 with me and half of your session fee will sponsor me on the MS 150 mile ride. Over 390, 000 people across the U.S. suffer with this debilitating disease. With your portraits session donation and my peddling power, together we can help raise money for research for treatment and a cure.
So not only are you donating to a great cause, you come away with wonderful portraits and make me bike 150 miles. What more could you ask for?

Sometimes it is about the Community.

I have a lot of interests in life; photography, politics, my family, scouts, and cycling. During the past few months I have been working on a project called the Ride of Silence. Well last Wednesday May 20th at 6pm all the work came together. Here is a video of the event and a link to the national website to further explain the event. The ride went very well and I have to thank Hawkeye Bike Association for coming out and riding as well as others who joined us. I also have a link to my blog if you care to read more about the event.

Whats New?

With the New Year I have exciting new product and new prices that I would like to share with you. The first new product is the Coffee Table Books that are a great way of displaying the best of portraits from your session. You have the choice of 20 different cover styles in 3 formats. You can also have a 10 page (20 images) or the 20 page (40 images) book custom made for you. This book can also make a great gift to family and friends. No longer will you have to choose which portrait to give to them, you can give them a whole portrait session in a book to look over. Did I mention that in most packages I offer the album is included? I had created one from Adams and Courtney’s wedding that I took a little while back. This book is solid in its construction and beautiful in its finish. Not only is this book a great wedding album but later when your child is born, you can put the first years portraits of you babies life in this book.

The wallet albums are another one of those products that may look small but holds a lot for its size. This custom made booklet holds 12 of your favorite portraits with 17 cover choices in 2 size selections. These wallet albums are a great way to show more than just one portrait of you family to your friends and easily fits in your purse for easy retrieval. These are also another gift idea for family and friends that takes the hassle out of choosing which portrait to send to them.

I have a new price sheet for my services that I know that will give you a lot of portraits without the large cost. Traditionally portrait packages gave you an 8x10 with its matching 2-5x7’s, well no longer will that be the case. I have broken up the 8x10s and the 5x7 and created a portrait unit. By doing this you have the freedom of choosing how many 5x7s and 8x10s you want. Plus you do not have to have matched the 5x7s with the 8x10s so this will open more choices in poses. This really works well for the Senior Portrait Packages. No longer will you have to flip a coin on what poses want and those you have to leave behind.

I have simplified my wedding packages and created on package that will cover all your needs. No longer will you have the hassle of choosing a wedding portrait package from a list. I created a package that includes an engagement portrait session, portraits for you, family and wedding party, a custom made Coffee Table Book as well as a wallet album for the bride and groom and their parents. Not to mention all the consultations before the wedding and full day’s coverage on the wedding day all within one price.

I know that you will not only enjoy the produces that I offer but the service that I deliver. I am a small studio but I offer a one on one quality of service that you may not get anywhere else. Each customer I have is not a number but member of my portrait family.

Pet Portraits

Not only do I love to take my son’s portrait but I also like to take my pets portraits as well. They don’t always like to set for the session so I end up picking a spot and waiting until they arrive. I have found that once you have spent and enormous amount of time setting up the camera, background and lights more often than not they avoid the whole space completely. Today I had found that the landing on the stairs was perfect, not too bright and not too dark, and for once the cats seem to agree with me. So throughout the day I would wonder up the steps with my new Digital SLR, Nikon D80, and take a few quick shots before my subject would run off. So after a few hours of fun here are the fruits of my labor.

Well right now I have a little more time on my hands than I had before, so I put this slide show together. This is the rest of the portraits that I had done for my senior. She had told me she is having a hard time choosing which ones she wants. I can't even choose which one is my favorite.
